TECHNICALL BUILDING

We build the technical rooms inside your building: imaging suites, labs and server rooms.

Technicall is a Minneapolis contractor for rooms where equipment, power, air and code requirements decide the layout. We build them in existing Twin Cities commercial buildings while the rest of the floor keeps working, with one team from site walk to closeout binder.

For clinics and practices

Imaging and procedure rooms built next to patients still being seen

A new X-ray, CBCT or procedure room touches shielding, dedicated circuits, medical gas, ventilation and the equipment vendor's site-prep drawings. We put all of that into one room data sheet before we price it, then build behind dust barriers so the rest of the clinic stays open.

  • Lead or barrier shielding built to the shielding report from your physicist
  • ICRA-style dust containment, negative air and daily cleanup in occupied suites
  • Medical gas and electrical work by licensed Minnesota trade partners
  • Equipment vendor coordination: anchoring, floor loading, conduit and data drops

Laboratories where the exhaust balance is part of the contract

Lab fit-outs fail on the details: a fume hood that won't hold face velocity, a casework run that blocks an eyewash, a sink without the right trap. We track every hood, bench and safety fixture as its own submittal, and we don't call the room finished until the test and balance report is signed.

  • Fume hoods and biosafety cabinet rough-ins
  • Epoxy and phenolic resin work surfaces
  • Steel and wood lab casework
  • Emergency eyewash and drench showers
  • Acid-resistant waste and neutralization
  • Supply and exhaust air balancing

Server rooms and network closets, cut over on a weekend you choose

IT rooms live or die on power, cooling and access. We build the room shell, dedicated cooling, raised floor or ladder rack, grounding and the clean-agent suppression coordination, and we schedule every power shutdown in writing with your IT team before anyone touches a breaker.

  • Electrical permits filed on or after Aug 17, 2026 follow the 2026 NEC in Minnesota
  • Shutdown windows agreed 10 business days ahead, with a rollback step
  • Card-access doors, sealed penetrations, fire-rated walls

Questions facility teams ask first

Do you build whole buildings?

No. We build technical rooms and suites inside existing commercial buildings, typically projects between $50,000 and $1.5 million. We don't build new structures, exteriors or 1–4 unit homes.

Who designs the room?

If you have an architect and engineers, we build to their drawings. If you don't, our Technical Room Study brings in licensed design partners and produces the room data sheets and budget used for permit drawings.

Can the rest of the building stay open?

Yes, that is the normal case. We phase work, build dust containment, keep noisy and shutdown work to agreed nights or weekends, and post a weekly look-ahead for your staff.

How is the price set?

After the study we issue a stipulated-sum proposal on AIA A101-2017 with general conditions shown as a separate line. Changes are priced by written change order before work starts.

Who handles the imaging or lab equipment?

The equipment vendor supplies and calibrates it. We build to their site-prep drawings, coordinate delivery and rigging, and provide the power, data, blocking and anchoring they specify.

What should I send first?

The building address, the rooms you need, the equipment list or model sheets if you have them, any existing drawings, and your target dates. Email is enough to start.

Tell us which room you need built.

We reply within one business day and can usually walk the site within a week.
